The world’s best business coach

The best business coach in the world isn't me.

(Although, I'm a pretty close second).

It isn't any of the speakers who featured on the How Rich Coaches Think summit. And it isn't Tony Robbins, Eckhart Tolle, or anyone that's ever been on Oprah.

No. The world's best business coach, in my humble (but accurate) opinion, is:

Money is perhaps the world's greatest personal coach – and certainly the world's greatest Business Coach. Think about it … if you take a quick look at your bank account and listen to what your money is telling you, you'll discover that money…

  • Is always straight forward and honest with you

  • Is always completely neutral and has absolutely no judgement towards you whatsoever

  • Shows up in exact proportion to how much value you're producing (not in proportion to how hard you work)

  • Lets you know if you're charging enough, too little, or too much, and when to raise your fees (Note: charge too much or too little, and not much of it will show up in your account)

  • Is available 24/7 for a quick check-in, unlike most SLACKER coaches who only show up once a week for a session

  • Lets you know when it's time for quick-campaign to generate a big chunk of value for a lot of people (ie. a sales or marketing campaign)

  • Is the best possible feedback-giver on your business and marketing prowess

  • Lets you know if you're allocating resources appropriately to different areas of business and life

  • Lets you know if your team is too big or working too many hours on non-income producing work

  • Lets you know what you truly value in life – and where you're emotionally attached to things

  • Is always happy, ready and willing to show up in ever-increasing amounts, based on how high-vibe, abundance and love-based your thinking is (and based on your ability to channel those thoughts into solving people's problems in a way that creates value for them and in a way that is scalable and systematic)

I could go on, but it is very rare indeed to have a coach who does all these things for you… and asks for nothing in return but that you show up and pay attention.

It’s nothing personal…

Struggling coaches believe that the results they get in business are because of them, personally.

Rich Coaches know that the results they get in business are because of the systems they have in place.

One of the biggest lessons in business comes from management guru, Peter Drucker:

“It's never a personal problem. It's always a systems problem.”

It turns out this isn't just true in business. It's true for most of the goals we attempt to achieve.

Not in great shape? Examine the systems of training and nutrition you have in place. Do they make it inevitable you'll put on weight, or inevitable you'll get ripped?

No success finding love? Take emotion out of the picture for a few minutes and examine the dating systems you have in place. I have my clients set things up so that they're in a position where they go on one date every single week. Ideally, the same guy is worth dating more than once, but either way, the dates will keep happening.

No consistent clients flowing into your business? It's not about you. It's not about how good your coaching is, or how much you deserve it. It's a simple matter of recognising whether or not you have the systems in place that make it inevitable that you get one new client each and every week.

How do you make it inevitable that you get one new client every week?

Simple. Set things up so that 3 new people book into your calendar every week for an introductory coaching session.

How do you get 3 intro-sessions per week?

Simple. Send a message to your email database inviting them to have a session.

Wait, what? You don't already have a big email waiting list of potential clients?

Simple. Set up a webinar, video, audio training, or e-book that is the only call to action on your website, so your ideal clients can't possibly resist opting in… and after checking out the free training they're itching and ‘pre-sold', ready to work with you.

Have a free gift on your website already, but don't have any traffic going there?

Simple. Select 1-3 of the dozens of marketing activities that you actually find fun and enjoyable and use them to drive people to your site, so they get on your list, and ‘auto-magically' book themselves into your calendar.

If you don't have a consistent flow of clients, there are simple, powerful systems you can put in place to guarantee that happens. Just like in any other area of life.

If you convince yourself it's because of ‘you', or that it's a personal problem, then you won't put the necessary systems in place to get the results you want.

Dating advice for niche-less coaches

Struggling coaches believe they need to figure out their perfect niche, before getting clients.

Rich Coaches believe in serving clients and making money, while they figure out their perfect niche.

I spoke to a coach recently who was re-deciding whether she really even wanted to be a coach, based on her current financial situation and the lack of clients that were coming into her business. She told me she wasn't certain about her branding, position, niche, the results she offers, and because it isn't all perfectly lined up yet, that's why she doesn't have clients and should probably just quit.

I pointed something out.

Out of everyone I interviewed for the “How Rich Coaches Think” summit… you know who else isn't certain about their ‘perfect' niche, branding and market positioning?

Almost everyone!

Here's a brief glimpse…

  • Christian Mickelsen's biggest passion is teaching his inner-game “instant miracle” mindset techniques. (Not just helping coaches get clients)

  • Eben Pagan is still balancing how to frame the fact that his first 8-figure business was in the ‘seedy' underworld of the men's dating scene (even though he's now happily married, doesn't teach dating anymore and is now a Master Trainer of Virtual Coaches). He's changed his niche at least 3 times that I can count – but still built each one to over 7-figures per year.

  • Tiamo Devetorri is most well known for teaching musicians how to make 6-figures in their music business, but his biggest passion is being a spiritual teacher, in particular his Joy First methodology.

And personally, I've changed niche more times than I can count! But all the way along, I made sure I was bringing in plenty of clients and money from each ‘niche' before moving on to the next one.

That's what we call “dating” a niche, not marrying one right away.

In fact, I encourage clients to “date” a niche by getting a few hundred people on their email list and signing up at least 10 coaching clients in the WRONG niche, to get started. That way, you'll have built the most important skills and ‘tested' everything out, so that when you finally figure out your perfect niche, you can rinse and repeat the process, then ‘marry' it.

The whole time, you'll be making plenty of money and serving people as their coach.

Making money is easy

Rich Coaches believe making money is easy.

Struggling Coaches believe making money is hard.

It's as simple as that.

The belief that making money is easy didn't come about because money magically started showing up in the Rich Coach's bank account, with zero effort on their part.

It happens the other way around:

Belief -> Action -> Result

If you believe making money is easy, it will be. You'll find paths of action that are easy to follow, set up systems that make wealth inevitable for you with very little effort, and ultimately, you'll actually implement those systems – because they don't require so much hard work.

On the flip side, if you believe making money is hard, you'll naturally take actions that are ‘harder' in order to make money, which inevitably leads to less total value being created and as a result, less money flowing your way.

I'm no stranger to this middle class struggling coach mentality. In fact, I still occasionally get caught out by it.

Recently, I was at a Mastermind with a group of multi-six-figure business owners who are scaling up to 7-figures. I tapped into the collective wisdom of the group & the coach who runs 3x multi-seven-figure businesses.

Here's what was on my mind:

Should I completely pack my schedule with 1-to-1 Introductory Breakthrough Coaching sessions, in order to scale up to 7-figures?

In theory, I could.

I have a (relatively) massive following, I'm great at delivering these ‘Breakthrough' sessions and I have the systems required to book 1-2 introductory coaching sessions every single day, if I want.

It would only require 4 sales of my £5K Spiritual “Switch Mastermind” per week to reach the infamous £1,000,000 Mark.

That's do-able.

10 Breakthrough Sessions per week with a 40% conversion rate equals 4 sales per week… for 50 weeks straight.

I could totally make a Million that way. Not to mention all the sales from high-end Platinum Clients and lower-end offers along the way.

You want to know what stopped me in my tracks…?

Every. Single. Mastermind. Member.

And the 7-Figure Coach.

It is theoretically possible to make a million in sales all by yourself. It's also extremely difficult and I'd be dreading looking at my calendar each morning. It would also take 2-3 hours per day – time I could be spending in my genius zone of coaching, writing and teaching. (Ya know, the stuff people actually pay me for!)

Plus, I could get there with much more ease, flow and grace by simply having one or 2 of the dozens of coaches I've trained up over the years pick up some of the slack.

In fact, there's a very good reason that in my “Never Ending Stream Of Clients” system, you always only have 3 Introductory Breakthrough Coaching sessions available in any given week. If you get ‘greedy' and try doing a lot more in one go, you'll probably burn out and if you do much less than 3, your clients will dry up after a while.

Three sessions a week is easy and do-able for anyone. It only takes 3-4 hours per week and it's actually quite fun in small doses like that. Plus it keeps you connected to your list and your tribe… and consistently leads to one new client per week.

How do you scale that up to One Million Dollars (with eye brow raised and pinky on lips like Dr. Evil from Austin Powers)…?

Simple.

Be a team player, spread the love and the money and get a couple of other coaches to take on some of the load of Intro-Sessions for you. I can keep 80% or more of the cash from each £5K sale while still giving very generous commission payments to the coaches on my team, without having to do all the hard work by myself.

Making money can be very, very easy.
