Struggling Coaches see money as a limited resource. Rich Coaches see money as an unlimited resource.
Money is a tool we use to exchange value.
You and I can sit in a room all day and create zero value for anyone, and we'll likely get paid zero money.
On the other hand, we could sit in the same room and spend the entire day creating immense value for the world – through our coaching, or creating and delivering products and services that millions of people want and find highly valuable. If we do that, we'll be paid in abundance.
Because we can create value ‘out of thin air', using the incredible power of our creative thinking, by focusing it on solving problems people have… that means we can **almost** create money ‘out of thin air'.
In this way money is not a limited resource, because the value we can create is not limited. It's as unlimited as creativity itself. It's as unlimited as our imaginations.
We don't get paid for dreaming big dreams (directly).
Instead we get paid for dreaming up solutions to people's real-life problems, then creating those solutions, testing them out, making sure they work… then letting people buy them from us.
In practical terms, the key here is to figure out what problems people actually have that they would pay almost anything to have solved for them… then get to work on solving it.
The Rich Coach's step-by-step plan for doing this is:
- Invite people to a 1-to-1 Breakthrough Coaching session
- Listen deeply and take notes during or immediately after the session on their biggest goals and challenges (in their words)
- Let them hire you and coach them through coming up with the solutions for themselves (and share your perspective where you can)
- Notice the solutions that really work and that keep coming up for clients
- Create a leveraged group program or information-product where you solve the problem for many people at once (instead of 1-to-1)
- Use the clients' own words to describe exactly what the problem is, what the solution is, and the benefits of having it solved
- Spread the word to everyone about the incredible solution to a real-world problem that you've created for people.
The cool thing about this is that you get paid as you create the ‘ultimate' solution to someone's problem.
Of course, this only works if you know how to coach someone to find their own solutions (the essence of true coaching).
And, it only works if you've got a way of inviting people to (and filling up) your introductory Breakthrough Coaching Session calendar.
And, an email list of prospects is sure helpful too.
